Besides being engineering marvels, bridges are heavy with symbolism. Drawbridges, especially, speak to me, get me to stop, wait, watch the water. The Pont de Rennes Bridge (formerly known as the Platte Street Bridge) in downtown Rochester provides a great view of the High Falls of the Genesee River.
