I haven’t read much Elmore Leonard; however, I really liked the TV series, _Justified_, begun and inspired by a short story of his. Violent story line but thrilling, and really engaging characters. No unnecessary words, that’s for sure! And I’m glad I could steer you Beck’s way–she writes a great review. So nice seeing you yesterday!
Me too. Sounds so simple, but I keep coming back to this advice as I write–because it keeps me thinking about the reader and his or her wants and needs, not my own proclivities for description that goes on too long or a turn of phrase that is just so dear. Thanks for checking in here. Your site and poems–especially today’s lullaby!–are wonderful!
Thank you! Hmm, you’re not showing up as a follower on my end anyway. If you go here https://rustbeltgirlblog.wordpress.com/ and scroll all the way to the bottom, that’s where my follow button is. Looks like I might need to make this process easier… Sorry.
Solid advice!

Yup! I’m so wordy sometimes because I love imagery but have learned there is a time and place!

Right! It can be tough to cut those images and descriptors in favor of pacing. Thanks for checking in!
